The integration of the 2Africa submarine cable into e&’s SmartHub data center activates part of the 45,000-km, 180 Tbps network in the United Arab Emirates, strengthening its role as a regional data traffic hub. The system connects over 33 countries, enhancing low-latency, high-capacity links for hyperscalers and data centers as AI demand accelerates. Additional projects, including new Gulf and Asia cable routes and expansions backed by du, further embed the UAE into global data corridors. Together, these upgrades reinforce the country’s position in cross-border digital infrastructure and data flow logistics.
