East African data center firm iXAfrica has been selected as the host partner for Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) region in Nairobi, making it Oracle’s second cloud region in Africa after Johannesburg. The Kenya region, first announced in early 2024 and currently listed as “coming soon,” will be hosted at iXAfrica’s NBOX1 facility on Mombasa Road, which can support more than 20MW at full build-out. The site’s existing power, connectivity, and phased expansion capacity position it for immediate hyperscale cloud deployment. The partnership is expected to strengthen local cloud adoption, support mission-critical workloads, and advance Kenya’s digital economy.
